Why this site exists

This site started from a simple observation: an Arabic page recommending a hosting company gives you a list, not a number you can check. The price shown is the first-year price, the renewal price is elsewhere or missing, and the last-updated date is absent or does not match what is on the page.

So we built the opposite. Every figure here carries its source and the date we read it, every score is an arithmetic sum you can redo on paper, and every service listed states a weakness. If you cannot reproduce a number from the page, that is our bug, not yours.

Who is responsible?

Scorura is a team of reviewers and writers based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, working in reviewing and recommending web services. Responsibility for every figure on these pages sits with the team: no figure is published until someone other than its writer has checked it.

The entity details below are as recorded. A postal address is available on request to anyone who needs it for a legal purpose.

Who owns it and who funds it?

The site is owned by the team that runs it. No provider we review holds a stake in it, we hold no stake in any provider, and no outside investor has a veto over what is published.

Funding is by commission from the companies listed, when a reader signs up through a “Visit site” button. It is explained in full on the How we earn page. No commission agreement has started yet.

Who writes and who checks?

Two writers work in each language, with an editor for that language above them. The name under any review is the person who wrote it, beside the person who checked its figures before publication.

We do not publish under invented bylines and we do not show photographs of a team that does not exist. When a writer or an editor joins, the name is added here and their work carries their byline.

How do we work?

The order of work is the same for every service, and written out in full on the methodology page:

• We read the company’s own pages and record every figure with its link and the date we read it, keeping a dated capture of the page.
• We put those figures into the published formulas, and the score comes from them alone.
• The editor checks every figure before publication, and no figure is published without a source.
• No provider sees its page before publication, and none is given a chance to amend it.
• Every change to a score or to the method is logged in the changelog with its date and its reason.

What have we not checked yet?

We have not bought a plan from any provider, and no measurement round has run. That means everything to do with speed, uptime and the feel of a control panel is not measured by us, and will not be published until it is.

What we publish today is what can be read from a stated source and checked: prices, renewal prices, refund terms, plan limits, and support hours and languages. The “not checked yet” table on the methodology page counts this out.

What protects the independence?

A commercial relationship with a provider changes neither its score, its rank, nor whether a visit button appears; the button follows a published rule that depends on the score alone, and it can withhold a link from a company that pays us.

If a provider objects, the only possible correction is a corrected figure with its source. We do not remove a review or soften its wording on request.

How do we correct an error?

If you find an error, write to [email protected] with the page link, the figure you believe is wrong, and the source you read. We check it, correct the page, and log the correction in the changelog with what it said before, what it says now, and the date.

A published correction is never deleted or hidden, and we do not correct quietly: the page that changed carries the trace of the change.

Mistakes we have made

No corrections have been published yet, because the site has not yet published real figures about providers. This section exists before we need it on purpose: when we get something wrong it will appear here and in the changelog, not quietly.
